On Wednesday, Obama donor and alleged comedian Bill Maher compared the Romney campaign and Fox News to the final days of Nazi Germany while appearing on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews.
Chris Matthews, who apologized for saying he was "so glad" that Hurricane Sandy came to help Obama get re-elected, kicked things off by comparing Karl Rove to Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf, a former propagandist for Saddam Hussein.
"So, Bill, Karl Rove, I think, has offered some material. Is he the Baghdad Bob of the 2012 election, the last guy to admit something's new and something bad is happening?" Matthews asked.
"It was a little Hitler's bunker, wasn't it?" Maher asked, before fantasizing about killing Rove with poison.
"I wanted to rush in with a cyanide capsule there. I thought he was going to say, 'I don't want to live in a world without national socialism. Okay, Mrs. Goebbels,'" he added.
The Hill said that Maher was referring to the 2004 German film "Downfall." More
